About Us
The alliance is a collaborative partnership of 15 independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit YMCAs with 50 branches, 8 residential camps, and the YMCA360 virtual platform. The Washington State Alliance is a member of the four state Pacific Alliance of YMCAs (Alaska, Hawaii, Oregon and Washington).
Our Mission
Our mission is to support and serve member YMCAs to inspire, nurture, and strengthen communities by advancing Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility through advocacy, programming and collaboration.
Our Vision
Our vision is a united and sustained Washington State Alliance of YMCAs working together and with stakeholders to strengthen Washington communities by helping ALL people achieve health, gain confidence, and feel secure at every state of life.
Our Purpose
The Washington State Alliance of YMCAs seeks to:
Strengthen the collective impact of YMCAs in our state by speaking with one voice.
Support and leverage resources to help local Ys address critical needs in their communities.
Support the capacity building of local Ys to ensure sustainability.
Serve as a convener, connector, and conduit for Ys and the alliance to engage with key statewide stakeholders.
Protect and promote the charitable status of Ys at a local, state, and federal level.
Advocate for public policy consistent with the YMCA’s mission and programs, and to gain recognition as a leader in our state on issues that affect children and families.
Foster the interdependence of Washington Ys by supporting statewide collaboration, learning, and community impact.
Work in concert with the Pacific Alliance of YMCAs on board governance, strategic planning, shared services, and executive transitions.
