Youth Development
Washington YMCAs are recognized leaders in high quality youth programs and services. Youth are physically and emotionally healthier because of these programs.
During 2025…
133,614 youth ages 5-17 participated in YMCA programs.
51,646 youth learned the essential life skill of swimming.
34,167 youth learned social skills and increased physical activity from playing in youth sports
9,053 youth attended a summer residential camp experience.
12,918 young people attended summer day camp.
Ys partnered with schools to serve 11,197 students in enrichment based before/after school childcare
2,174 youth were enrolled in high quality early learning and pre-school giving them the foundation to prepare them for kindergarten
1,459 youth engaged in civics education through the Youth and Government Programs
Healthy Living
Washington YMCAs are major providers of community health for all ages, including seniors. In 2025, our Ys provided over 576,707 men, women and children access to fitness opportunities through specialized classes, group activities and individual fitness plans.
Ys are addressing identified chronic health issues (Diabetes, Hypertension, Arthritis and Childhood Obesity) in the state. The YMCA works with healthcare providers to serve over 5000 people in one or more of our Health Intervention Programs.
Washington YMCAs maintain referring partnerships with 16 State Health Organizations.
Participants in YMCA Health Programs indicate:
