Yakima Family YMCA Welcomes New CEO

The Washington State Alliance of YMCAs is pleased to welcome Thomas Russell as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Yakima Family YMCA. Thomas took over leadership in September after longtime CEO Bob Romero retired.

Russell previously served as the Executive Director of the Central YMCA, the flagship branch of the YMCA of Silicon Valley. He began his YMCA career working at the YMCA of Greater Seattle while he was a student at the University of Washington.

"I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as the next CEO of the Yakima Family YMCA. I look forward to listening, learning, and working alongside our dedicated staff, volunteers, board members and trustees, donors, and community partners to build on the YMCA's strong foundation. Together, we will continue strengthening the Yakima Valley by expanding opportunities, fostering meaningful connections, and ensuring the YMCA remains a welcoming place where everyone can thrive," Russell said.
